Cardiac Services
The Lubbock Heart Hospital Cath Lab is another element that makes the hospital a state-of-the-art facility. In the Cath Lab, hemodynamic monitoring is accomplished with the Mac Lab 7000 which provides patient related physiologic information, while Inturis, fluoroscopy equipment built by Phillips, provides premier image acquisition. Picture archiving and communication system (PACS) is then performed by Optimed. The Optimed system allows the lab to be cineless, or filmless, which saves on the need for storage, chemicals, film and additional staff hours for processing and filing.
Electrophysiology studies are accomplished with the Cardio Lab computer-based monitoring system and the Bloom Electrophysiology Stimulator. Intravascular ultrasound gives the cardiologist another dimension in diagnosis and treatment modalities for vascular diseases.
The Cath Lab team members include RNs, LVNs, X-ray Techs, registered cardiovascular invasive specialists and cardiovascular technologists. Every patient has a talented team of four, in addition to their cardiologist, providing optimum cardiac care.
